(MyQuincyArea.Com) Macomb, IL - A new trial has been ordered for 31-Year old Daniel Belknap of Macomb, who was convicted of First Degree murder in 2008.  The Third District Appellate Court ordered the new trial, because the judge didn't properly question jurors before the trial.

In 2008, jurors in McDonough County found Belknap guilty for the death of Silven Yocum, his dates daughter, a five year old and sentenced to 30 years in prison.

Reports show that Yocum was in a coma for longer than a week and died.  Reports from the autopsy show that there were bruises on her head, shoulder, back, right ankle, and foot.

Erin Yocum, 34, the mother of the 5-Year old plead guilty to misdemeanor child endangerment and received a 2 year non-reporting probation, a $200 fine, $500 in legal fees, as well as court cost.
