(MyQuincyArea.Com) Quincy, IL - Two suspects were arrested Friday afternoon after making a bomb threat to Quincy Senior High School. The two suspects were Parker Dietrich, 18 of 3733 Prairie Ridge, a QHS Student and 22 year old Michael Stretz of 537 Locust in Quincy.

Reports show that around 8:45 Thursday Morning, a bomb threat was made over the phone directly to the Quincy Senior High School .

Quincy School officials and the Quincy Police Department, did agree quickly that the bomb threat did seem to be a hoax, and said “that if it would have been serious, they would have taken more drastic measures to protect the students attending QHS”.  They also reported that they did go ahead and perform a protective sweep of the building and did not find any evidence of a bomb or related material and did not evacuate students.

The two suspects, Dietrich and Stretz were arrested on charges of felony disorderly conduct and were lodged in the Adams County Jail, awaiting a court appearance.

The bomb threat on Thursday was the Third bomb threat to QHS in the last 3 years, and school officials are taking every situation serious.

MyQuincyArea.Com spoke to the QHS Student that was involved in the first bomb threat to QHS back January of 2007, to find out the reason for him calling in that bomb threat.  The subject said “he was at home bored, and he was never allowed to have fun with friends, so he wanted some excitement, and thought it would be funny to call in a bomb threat”.  He said looking back at the situation now, that it wasn't’t funny and did not mean for all the drama, and said it was only supposed to be a short time joke and it turned into a long term investigation, costing tax payers money, expelling him from school, losing friends, and going to the Department of Corrections.

This bomb threat was called into the 911 call center, stating that there was a bomb at the WGEM News Station, at about 10PM in January of 2007. Shortly thereafter another bomb threat was called into 911, stating that there was a bomb at QHS.  Quincy Police and School officials investigated the situation for over 16 hours and found that the bomb threat was just a hoax.

The second bomb threat was in 2008, involving a written threat on the wall in the woman’s restroom.
