A Standoff situation in Quincy left police working overtime trying to talk two individuals out of a Quincy home.

(MyQuincyArea.Com) Quincy, IL - A Standoff situation in Quincy left police working overtime trying to talk two individuals out of a Quincy home.  The situation started at around 11am, on Quincy's northeast side at 6111 Ewbanks Road.

It was reported that 39 year old Randy Black barricaded himself and a family member inside the residence.  It was also reported that there were weapons inside the home, so police was careful to make sure they did not make the situation worse.  The other family member left the house at around 7PM while Black was not talked out until around 9:30PM, Thursday.

The situation did end peacefully.

Black was taken in custody by the Adams County Sheriffs Department and will undergo a mental evaluation.
